
On Sunday, June 7, Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Community Grants Committee, presented the Miracle League of Alexandria (MLA), (among those selected from a large and competitive field) to receive a 2026 grant in the amount of $3000 to purchase specialized equipment for sensory rooms for children with special needs at two Alexandria City Public Schools.
MLA had the pleasure of being recognized as one of the 2026 awardees during their 10:30 a.m. worship service. Mac Slover, Chair and partner, Diane Ford were on-hand for a short gathering beforehand at 10:00 a.m. for pictures and introductions. Due to a major renovation project at their church, the worship service took place at Agudas Achim Congregation. Following the service Mac and Diane were able to met members and guests of the congregation. In all, the church presented over 37,000 in grants to local non-profit organizations in Alexandria. The presentation was lead by WPC’s Rev. Patrick Hunnicutt and assisted by Anne Merrill and Barbara Watts of the Community Grants Committee.
MLA sincerely thanks the Westminster Presbyterian Church for recognizing their work in the community and look forward to a strong partnership with the church in the future.
