The Miracle League of Alexandria

The Miracle League spring baseball season was officially dedicated in memory of Gene Meaker, long time player in the adult league. Gene passed away on December 23, 2017. Read about Gene and the dedication at AlexandriaNews.org.

Youth Miracle Spring Season Begins

The 7^th Spring season of the Miracle League youth baseball program began on Wednesday, April 18. The season will run Wednesdays 4:30 – 6 pm through May 23. Volunteer opportunities are still available.

Kelley Cares Foundation Donates $10,000 for  “All Things on Wheels” Program Ceremony

The Kelley Cares Foundation donated $10,000 worth of equipment including skates, hoverboards and scooters to help support the Recreation Department’s Therapeutic Recreation Program at the Nannie J. Lee Center.  http://www.kelleycares.org

On Thursday, February 22, 2018, Bill Rivers and Mac Slover were the keynote speakers for the TC Williams High School National Honors Society’s Induction Ceremony. They spoke to over 100 inductees and their parents. The National Honor Society at TC Williams has been volunteers at the Miracle League Baseball games for over three years during the spring and fall seasons. Andrew Orzel, National Honors Advisor has worked with Mac and Bill over the years to bring students to the games.

Thanks to the National Honor Society for inviting Bill and Mac to speak at their program.

Gene Meaker from the Adult Therapeutic Recreation Program and the Miracle League of Alexandria passed on December 23.  Gene is the brother of Mike and the two of them have been in the Miracle League Program since the beginning in 2011.
