The Alexandria City council dedicated Pat Miller Neighborhood Square, named after longtime Del Ray resident and neighborhood activist Pat Miller, in the midst of the popular art event, which attracted more than 60,000 visitors in its 22nd iteration. Pat also serves on the board of the Miracle League of Alexandria.

Wheelchair Softball Clinic
The Miracle League of Alexandria and the Kelley Cares Foundation will be working together to support MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital’s Adaptive Sports Program by hosting a wheelchair softball clinic on Saturday, July 15 from 11 am – 4 pm at the Kelley Cares Miracle League Field. Registration is free and open to Individuals with impairments in their lower extremities are eligible to participate in Wheelchair Softball. Participants MUST be able to self-propel a manual wheelchair. Limited sport wheelchairs will be available.
The Adaptive Sports Program strives to maximize participation for individuals with disabilities in recreational and competitive sports.

Congratulations to Lindsey Swanson being honored yesterday with her acceptance of the Champion of Children’s Award at City Hall for her work with the Kelley Cares Foundation and the Miracle League of Alexandria.

Our own Mac Slover gets recognized!!
On March 5th, Mac was inducted into the Northern Virginia Football Hall of Fame for all the good work he has done for the kids in that sport. During his introduction by the MC and the slide show highlighting his accomplishments, the Miracle League and the Kelley Cares Miracle Field received prominent recognition. Mac was also kind enough to mention how important the Miracle League was to him during his speech. Mac received a very well deserved recognition and the Miracle League benefited by our association with him. Well done, Mac!
